In the framework of the project "Rehabilitation of wetlands and peatlands in the Center Region" – RePeat, colleagues from the Research and Development Institute for Hunting and Mountain Resources Miercurea Ciuc together with members of the National Agency for Protected Natural Areas Harghita and Covasna territorial service have started the rehabilitation works of peatlands in the area of the Tușnad commune and the area of the Bilbor commune at the peatlands: Mlaștina Nyirkert, Mlaștina Nadasfurdo, Tinovul Luci Centru, Mlaștina de la Pârâul Rușilor.
They carried out evaluation and maintenance activities of the hydrological regime of the peatlands by building dams, cleaning the bridges, removing invasive species and installing information boards.
